Boost but No CEL, No missing link, stock ecu?

hi,
today i drove my civic d16Z2 to testrun it, it was supposed to go till the Ceck Engine Light @ 0 psi ?

i have an FMU, but no missing link. (on purpose to hit the CEL) i m going to chip the ecu next wednesday. but i thought with an fmu, and no missinglink, there wont be boost.
but at first i got 3 psi, and then 4,5
so i stopped!
my a/f gauge was in rich, but ofcourse i couldnt see how rich...

how can i have boost?

Re: Boost but No CEL, No missing link, stock ecu?

b/c your turbo is spooling that creates boost but why your ecu dosent read it and ---- itself is another story

Re: Boost but No CEL, No missing link, stock ecu?

i know the turbo is spooling, and that was what i was testing tillt 0 psi, but i assumed there would be a CEL,
i also assume that i have a stock ecu.

but why doesnt the ecu show a CEL?

Hit 11psi. It'll come on.

no i will destroy my engine...

there must be an explanation for the cel nog lighting up !?

Re: Boost but No CEL, No missing link, stock ecu?

it has to see the boost for like 5 seconds or more, and usualy dosent through till second

p.s. i'm running 11psi on a fmu :y

Re: Boost but No CEL, No missing link, stock ecu?

really? 11psi stock internals?

what kind of fuel lines you have? from your fmu to the fuel rail? im affraid mine wil explode like an egg in a 1200 watts microwave

but the ecu needs to see it for a few sec? hmm ok. that will explain all.
do you have an 12:1 FMU? and whats your a/f ratio ? at differnt boost pressures
i only have a narrowband lambdasensor hooked to an a/f gauge, so its not accurate

MikeJ-2009 08-22-2007 07:36 PM

Re: Boost but No CEL, No missing link, stock ecu?

10psi is an HMT minimum. Anything less than that is like buying an air/fuel gauge for a narrow band.

Re: Boost but No CEL, No missing link, stock ecu?

i got a z6 with eagle rods and spr pistons. but i was running the same boost on my mini me with 10.5 compression for 1.5 years with no problems

just stock fuel hoses. they wont blow i've never had that happen ever.

Re: Boost but No CEL, No missing link, stock ecu?

man 11 psi with an FMU is crazy man.. stop messing around

im going for 10 psi. have it chipped and dyno run it.
but dayly drive it on 5 psi
but i stil have a stock clutch, so i dont know if it wil hold ahhaha. i guess ill replace it for anotherone till its wasted (6puck or whatever)

doe you have pics of your setup?
and whats your a/f ratio

Re: Boost but No CEL, No missing link, stock ecu?

this is the first hmt turbo set up i ever did and it pulled pretty good. it was a d15/z6 mini-me (10.?) compression with fmu foooooo. ran for a year. tring to find pics of the hmt hood scoop and water intercooler sprayer via washer fluid ::)

you like the support rods on the down pipe ? yes that is 3 different oil lines conjoined to make 1 :y :8 O0

or does the ecu use the last fuelmaps, and keeps using those nomatter howmuch boost?

Ok do it simplified, BITCHASSCRACKER claims all this DIY stuff, but yet he ROCKS all the junk ---- minus the Ching chong mani that everyone here hates, but I've had great success without supporting it like they all state. It's alot of here say and when you ask to see their Home MADE stuff the welds look flackier that a dry pop corn fart. Half of these fuckers say "I WELD BETTER THAN THE SS CRAP" but then when they post pics it's nothin but cold welds with air pockets cause they didnt weld with argon gas support. Throw on your turbo run up to 10 psi but no more cause the map wont read it and use what ever a/f controller you can best adjust. I 100% support HONDATA"again HMT hate it cause it cost money" but look at it this way :YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR: yes crome and uberdata are great tools but at the cost of the chip burner, or osterage and the down time on the dyno of having to pull chips/reburn/ reinstall/ run and REPEAT, with hondata the datalog, .005 sec update and live changes at the sec of input or +/- saves time. You figure $150 an hour with 15 - 20 min of down time per run to burn and reinstall and rerun cost alot more. I dont mess with all that and I may be wrong with the process, but again I'm 100000000000000000000% behind HONDATA S300

no it goes into limp mode. you will have to shut off your car then restart it to reset it. unless you are using check valves to bleed the boost befor it gets to the map sensor

taiajam 08-23-2007 10:10 AM

Re: Boost but No CEL, No missing link, stock ecu?

my english is not so good, what does limp mode means?
does it mean that the ecu has a safe mode?

bitchasscracker 08-23-2007 11:12 AM

Re: Boost but No CEL, No missing link, stock ecu?

yes it goes into safe mode when the map sensor reads boost.
