Re: boost afr

you could lean it out alittle in the higher rpms but if you really dont know what you doing its pretty good where its at. normally 12:1 is what they say for forced apps but it all depends on the setup and conditions. SO BE CAREFULL

isnt 14.7 the ideal afr?

Re: boost afr

seems pretty lean to me... you might want to richen a/f in boost around 12:1 to high 11s to be safe, especially if your noobie to tuning. Whats timing at as well?

You need more fuel with more air, but yea stoich for most naturally aspirated engines is 14.7. When you have hot pressurized air and no fuel you get crazy crazy lean burn exploshun deathkibab. :'(

14.7 is stoich. Turbo's run hotter so they have to runner richer.

So is there a Turbo Stoich?

Re: boost afr

11.xxafr-12.xxafr would be my target under boost for most basic ----. 14.7 under light load/cruising (no boost) 13.8-13.1 heavier load (no boost) 15's at idle for fuel economy. All this varies from user to user and setup to setup.

yes this is ---- you could have found in 3 seconds of searching.

Re: boost afr

best power/torque is usually had between 12:1 and 13.5:1 depending on many things. when you boost a high compression engine, things arent right. you have a balance to strike between retard to solve detonation issues and overly rich to solve detonation issues. do not tune richer than 10:1, 11:1 is a safe place to be in boost. the extra fuel cools the chamber and LOSES you power, but the other option is retard which also loses you power and can overheat engines and turbos and manifolds. in summary, you may not be able to lean out to 12 or 13.5 or whatever without excessive retard or detonation. hope that helps.
