bolt or studs on adapter plate?

hey guys, I got my adapter plate finished and ready to bolt it to the manifold, I have a dsm t25 turbo and the holes on the flange is already threaded, can I just use bolts to mate it to the plate or should I drill it out and use studs?

as long as your taps are good, I would just use bolts.. unless there is a space restriction issue. Studs can be a pain in the ass, especially with exhaust work.. when you goto back out the nut and it rolls off half way and then brings the stud out of the manifold.

You already have it threaded so use bolts.

got pics?

I don't have a camera but the adapter plate is going on top so I would have to come in from the bottom, I'll just use a ---- load off loc-tite

I wouldn't use loctite on a stud, that would make it difficult to bring it back out. Just use some copper rtv and be sure to use grade 8 bolts.

If you think the studs will work better for your application then use them.. but you can always change to studs if the bolts just aren't working out.

As long as the ---- is torqued on there tight then u don't have to worry about it coming out

Re:bolt or studs on adapter plate?

I used cheap strut bar bolts on my adapter plate they were the perfect length and thread pitch, added some mufflermender filled in the cracks. For the other half (where the manifold attaches to adapter plate) I used cheapy studs for a year untill one snapped. My solution was high carbon steel studs. pays to know people I guess. hope any information helps.
