blue tops and y8 fuel fail fitment issues help!!!!
 

i got a y8 fuel rail, and a dsm 450 blue tops.

the injectors are shorter, so the fuel rail retaining bolts are too long.

anyone come across this problem? what did u do... please help. thanks

They fit fine for many many people. Are you sure you have the correct injectors?

i am sure. they are blue. however they are about 1/4 inch shorter than my y8 injectors....

twist the studs out that mount the fuel rail and use bolts.

they shouldnt be that much shorter really tho, I question what injectors you really have. In reality the color means jack ----, do they say 450 somewhere on them?

mine were too tall, and i think that is normal, so unless you were using aftermarket injectors before, these do not seem like 450's

its about the size of the seal difference.

i am just iffy on putting the things on without the fuelrail retaining bolts, and the rail comes off. i dont got any bolts at the moment to hold it all together. i got a zap strap on 1 side.. and thats all i could find... :S

390's are usually grey tops.

if u can see on the second pic, i got a bolt and a zap strap.. but the rail is loose.

it feels sketchy cuz i cant bolt it down

yea, i need to get a drill and drill out the rail, cuz they are different sizes.

This is probly totally obvious, but doesn't the mani have little nylon spacers on the studs that you can remove...I know my B16 did...mabe not. Like I said pretty obvious..

no it didnt have nylon spacers that i can take out.

well the pics arent working for me so I'll go out on a limb here.

they might actually be ford 24lb/hr blue tops...might have gotten scammed ?

DSM injectors are 1/4" shorter than OEM Honda injectors. The fix is usually longer/bigger seals. I have buna-n seals that slide right over the dsm's (mine show WDL450 on the plastic), and are slightler larger than the honda maifold injector bungs, so I'm thinking it'll be a perfect fit. I want to install them with the AEM rail I got for free (on bro's car), that's all thats holding me up. He's hard to track down.
