Block off dump tube = no boost??
Ok, my turbo is internally wastegated, and has a mooncut between the dumptube hole and the exhaust exit, and josh forgot about that and just welded another flange over it, so the dump tube was constantly dumping out exhuast. So like 2 weeks ago I got chris to weld up the dump tube completely, so we would have the exhaust gasses reroute into the exhaust pipe and no dumptube would be used. After we did this, the car would not build boost at all. We went back, cut two TINY slits in the dump tube, and runs perfect again, builds boost and all. I am just curious as to why this happened? Neither one of us was able to figure it out?

It's a safety feature hotrex puts in all his manifolds the manifold can tell it's being welded on and closes secret boost cut flaps in each runner. When you cut the two hole you must have tripped the emergency release switch with the drill bit. I think you just voided your warrenty.

I guess I'll take some tommorow...there is nothing visually special...dumptube and exxhuast coming out side by side with a fatty hotrex special leak between the two under the flange. Bottom of the DP has a flat plate welded tow, and two slits cut in the plate.
