Block guard
What is a block guard and what does it do? thanks
|
Re:Block guard
goes around the sleeves...basically holds them tight with the block but they can cause problems
|
Re:Block guard
What problems do block guards usually cause? Overheating? We've been running one in our race car for a couple years with no probs. Maybe just certain ones huh?
|
Re:Block guard
ive heard of overheating as well as just people screwing up their blocks by putting them in themselves crooked or not getting the block bored afterwards..but this is all second hand knowledge
|
Re:Block guard
Why would you bore the block after you put in the blockguard?
|
Re:Block guard
because if you just pound it in there(especially if its a little crooked) it can distort the walls i heard
|
Re:Block guard
Hmmm very interesting. I'll keep that in mind.

Re:Block guard
I have first hand experience with a ------- blockguard. I hate them with a passion. There might be certain ones that don't cause problems, but I will never waiste my money on such a rediculous idea ever again. If you feel that you need a blockguard because you are running high boost, you should just do it right and get the block sleeved. The only way I could see using a blockguard would be a good idea would be........ok nevermind, they just aren't a good idea. Maybe for a "racecar" that never sees stop and go traffic and may never see high temperatures from everyday driving. This is your fair warning, DO NOT BUY A BLOCKGUARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
