Default Better setup, HMT style

Well ive been reworking my setup for a little while working out some of the inefficiencies. the first step was removing a massive kink in my charge piping

before

after

Next thing i did was get rid of the motorcycle/radiator hose intake i had on the turbo for something better. Its made from a home depot reducer, intake piping from the ricer section of autozone, and a massive K&N filter. Still need to rig up a shield to protect it from water, but other then that it works really nicly.

that filter location is useless... it doeosnt need to be there. the ic will make the air coler then the air ur bringing in anyway. this is why i dont run filters... the air u bring in will heat up anyway cuz the turbo is hot as ----, so u try to bring in cold air, the turbo re-heats it, the intercooler drops the heat, then u get colder air..... move that filter, shorten the pipe n just stick the filter on the turbo its self.

I'm not a fan of no filter at all, but i would move that filter. It will still get 100% soaked when you drive in the rain, I guarantee it. I would just stick some fine mesh on the turbo or route it inside the engine bay.
