if you're boosting stock I would go with the LS/VTEC.
If it's a build block go with the H23 and a H22 head ;D

Build I mean buy...sleeved

is the h23 closed deck like the h22? if so, then the h23 would be stronger.

Yes they are closed deck like the 92-96 H22A's, but that unfortunatly the H23/H22's still shoot rods out of a closed deck block pretty easily :)

A turbocharged H23 would make oodles more torque than most B series out of the box.. thats for sure.

Its the ringlands not the rods that are bad in the H-series. I have yet to see a snapped rod in an H-series, the rings usually go before the rods have a chance to snap

Oh! Oh! When my h23 died, I had a shattered (you read right) rod. Broke into 4 large peices plus a bunch of smaller pieces.

Of course... this happened because my ring lands fried and the blowby caused detonation on the underside :D. The massive oil consumption that ensued didn't help either.

So I guess you rings will fail before your rods!

Uh, i can show you about 5 blocks sitting behind my buddies house from various people with holes in the block from rods popping.

Its pretty common! Especially if you hang around Accords/Preludes much.

Ditto on F22's.
