Re:is it better to adjust a wastegate through the actuator arm or boostcontrolle
are u wanting to raise the boost or lower it?
|
Re:is it better to adjust a wastegate through the actuator arm or boostcontrolle
to raise the boost definately go thru a manual boost controller.. it's a much safer way and prevents surging.

Re:is it better to adjust a wastegate through the actuator arm or boostcontrolle
if you want to lower the boost adjust the wastegate rod, if you want to raise the boost use a mbc.

Re:is it better to adjust a wastegate through the actuator arm or boostcontrolle
Where does a mbc go? Because i don't get how it can work with an internal wastegate? Can anyone explain?

Re:is it better to adjust a wastegate through the actuator arm or boostcontrolle
it goes inbetween the line from the compressor housing to the actuator

won't the turbo spool up faster if the wastegate arm is shortened just a bit?

Re:is it better to adjust a wastegate through the actuator arm or boostcontrolle
Personally I have the GReddy kit with the 15g internally gated.
Stock setting on the wastegate when they send out these kits is 5.5psi, and I have shortened my arm to give me 10psi, and have not had a single problem with any boost spikes or anything. The only thing i notice is that it will boost almost 1psi more in 3rd and 4th gear where there is a good load on it, than it does in say 1st or 2nd. |

does the turbo build boost sooner since you shortened the arm?
