well anyways my uncle died bout 3 weeks ago and it took a while but the will was finaly read and i inherited his old beat to ---- ford ranger. im thinking since i didnt pay anything for it im going to do it right with turbo but im not sure if its fuel injected or not and it is a auto trans is a turbo going to eat the ---- out of it ?? thanks for any answer or comments

 

I think you need to put some more info.
year, motor, trans to start with.

 

 

if it has a carb then its not fuel injected, just remove the air cleaner/intake.

 

if it's a v6, it's garbage.

if it's a 4cyl, it's garbage with no power.

swap the 2.8/2.9/3.0 for a 4.0, with some headers,
OR
turbo the 2.3

 

Turbo 2.3 gets my vote.

 

Unless its like a 79' ranger, which had the option for the 351W bolted to a C6 tranny in which case you WILL have to turbocharge it and rule the redneck streets with an Iron FIST!
















And they look good for a truck...

 

that would be mean as all hell, 351 will rip in anything especially a light *** truck.

 

sell it and buy a toyota truck if u really want a small boosted turck
