Default Best place to mount bov?

I'm working on my charge pipes right now and I'm curious where the best place to mount my 1g dsm bov is. Should it go before or after the intercooler? Is there a certain distance it should be away from the throttle body? Also where is the best place to point the vent tube so it can be heard outside the car.

I'd look in my maximum boost book but its been misplaced

If I remember correctly, I think it's 18 inches from the throttle body.
Point the vent tube up and drill a hole through your hood, it will be loud then.

I read in HCI's may issue that about 12 inches is best, and they also said it will perform better if you route the outlet to the turbo inlet.

lol i nave hear put it as close to the tb as possible b/c thats where the turbulence starts or where the air starts backing up,just put any extra injectors or nos past it. if u vent it into the turbo inlet it gives the turbo a chance to suck it back in,if u use a open tipe cone air filt u will still be able to hear it.if u want the tubo to spool slightly faster get a bypass vualbe it lets the car suck a little air and bypass the lagging turbo till it gets spooled

close to the throttle body = better throttle response
close to the turbo = slightly louder sound (depending on boost levels)

Stargazer,

I'm going to be running 7psi for now maybe 10 later. I have an automatic so really the the response means little to me since I dont reboost between shifts.

Do you think it would be better to mount it before the intercooler then to make it louder...thats Ideally what I'd like (louder). I've seen people do it either way

it's not gonna be that much louder. You have to figure...how much pressure drop is occuring in the charge from the turbo to the intake manifold? How big is your intercooler?

Mounting the BOV before the IC isn't gonna make a big difference in sound so just mount it in the normal spot, that way it's easier to access if you ever need to adjust it or whatnot.
