Best Pistons for me to use?

I am going to be turboing my car and I am buying the pistons soon and I have to determine which ones are the best for me.... I have a d16y7 and I want to get 230-250whp with a t3 .60/.48... I will run however many psi it takes to get these numbers up to 15 pounds

should I get the regular compression or low compression pistons???

Re: Best Pistons for me to use?

what exactly do they mean by notching of the block... it says I need to do this in order to use these pistons

and these are running at regular compression?

do you know what a notch is?
do you know what a block is?
if the answer is no to either of those questions, google the word.
to notch a block means to notch a block.

Its so the aftermarket rods dont contact the block.

3rd pic down shows how to do it.

if you can't install a piston into a block i seriously doubt your ability to maintain a turbo honda

One of the best deals ATM is the FJT combo with the longer D16 rods and the Vitara pistons (75.5mm). You get a better R/S ratio, pistons that can take >400whp, AND greater than 8:1 compression. My buddy made 250whp with that turbo on a B16 at 9psi, but with an open downpipe & .63ar turbine housing. A higher CR D16 will easily make 250whp with 15-18psi, which is about the safe limit for 91 octane on a 9:1 block.

Should I be able to increase my rev-limiter safely then due to the better r/s ratio?
Until what RPM usually?

lol... some how I don't think the cylinder walls and rings would like 9k in a d-series... even if it did have a better r/s ratio

they aren't the problem with redlining, rolling efficiency and unbalanced mass is.

kevo1586 11-18-2008 01:09 AM

Re: Best Pistons for me to use?

so are you able to increase redline at all then... like 7500?
