Bent fins on turbo?
Do bent fins on a turbo mean the bearing is shot? it spins freely and there is some side to side play but no in/out play and the fins aren't chipped. I know the seals need replacing, but will the turbo be fine after I replace the seals?

Re:Bent fins on turbo?
it means the turbo sucked something in

Re:Bent fins on turbo?
they're all bent the same, it looks like they scrubbed up against the inside of the compresso housing or someth(the side with the shot seals), the turbine side looks fine though...
It almost looks like they were supposed to be bent this way, it's an rhb5. |
Re:Bent fins on turbo?
how bout some pics?

Re:Bent fins on turbo?
That's the way it's supposed to be. The fins on the turbine inducer are curved if you look at it from the side.

I guess sites frown on you stealing their bandwidth. I uploaded it to my own space. It works now.

Re:Bent fins on turbo?
Just straighten them out the best ya can and run it. I've seen some mangled ass compressor wheels that still worked just fine. Example Beau and Dustins turbos.. both look like ----, but work fine.

nah... that pic is exactly what mine look like so I guess i'll stick with them.
