BBC turbo solution?
Hey folks, my first post and probably thee dumbest question you've ever heard.
However, here it is: Im in the midst of trying to shoehorn a 454CI chevy big block in the nose of a 4 cylinder camaro chassis (its a pile, but that's half the point) I've got everything basically roughed in. The setup goes like this: rectangular port 454ci chev gm fastburn aluminum heads cut, welded, inverted, and re-bent hooker shorty headers and 2 holset hy35w turbos from the cummins turbo trucks. My issue lies here: how the heck am I going to route boost to a carb? If anyone has any ideas, or a link to someone who makes such a peice, I'd appreciate it. |
Re: BBC turbo solution?
Fab up a Y-pipe to combine the two turbo outputs, run a silicone coupler off of that onto a plate that bolts onto the carb top... seems straightforward to me. There are a ton of aftermarket ways to do it, check out any of the blo-thru turbo setups out there.

Re: BBC turbo solution?
The way the setup currently sits, the two boost tubes Y into the FMIC, the intercooler exits towards the passenger side at the base of the intercooler. From there, its running up the inner fender.
Getting it to the carb is not the issue. Im curious as to how i would go about making the connection (and associated seal to the carb) from the boost tube. I know there's got to be something out there, and I considered using an intake off a mustang as well. However, Im not sure it will fit. Basically I need to do the following: Make connection between boost tube from intercooler to carb Seal that tube to the carb to prevent boost leaks Equalize pressure around the carb. |
Re: BBC turbo solution?
It;s called a carb hat or carb bonnet. Search on google and ebay.
