Default bad turbo? OR not..

so ive had my ching chong ebay turbo on for about 2 months or 3 months now..no problems till now...feels like no boost..But the boost gauge reads boost..just fine all the way up to 8psi-which i have a 8psi spring so thats good..but the car isnt going anywhere...everything else is fine on the setup..so im assuming the turbo is poop..it WAS boosting and boosting fine..it reads boost on the gauge, just doesnt pull anymore...ideas?

if so..off to blaast it must go...

Want to know the difference between a big leak and small leak? A big leak doesn't allow any pressure to build. A small leak allows enough pressure for the WG to finally open, but is semi-overspinning the turbo like its doing 20psi, but leaking the extra 12psi (whatever the difference is). In other words, it can be blowing hot air at just 8psi, and creating more backpressure in the exhaust mani in the process. Does is spool up a few hundred RPM slower now?

from what ive noticed, it seems to start building boost (according to the gauge) a few hundred rpm's sooner..but yes not building full boost until higher rpm range than usual....that makes sense..thats the first thing i checked-boost leaks..ill check again when i get home from work..just something about it throws me away from the leak theory..i just cant pinpoint it.

update...its not a boost leak..all my piping has been redone and gorilla glue added for comfort..that ***** great!! So..back to my original question..turbo? The turbo is alot louder, sounds like a 18 wheeler spooling up..and according to the boost gauge, im getting full boost at 4k rpm..which is alot sooner than before..the car hates anything above 6000rpm and its just not going anywhere..seems like its slower than when it was N/A...confusing me....

your just use to the car. stop driving it for like 2 weeks then go do some pulls. when i came back from vacation first time i sat im my car and did some hard pulls car seemed really fast for me.

the solution to your problem is to crank up the boost.
