bad detanation or 9 degreas timing
on the weekend i borrowed my budys detcan
i thought my tune was decent but there is alot of det just not loud
i backed off the dizzy till it went away but lost alot of bottom end and some top end power
today when i checked the timing its at like 8-9 degreas advanced
im going to get the car tuned asap hope fully this weekend or next
my problem is this is my daily driver and i do about 50 km a day both highway and city
what do you guys think is worse for the enginer the det or the lack of timing
14b, z6, 7 psi, BBKS tune

I'm not sure I quite understand...how is it possible for your dizzy to be 8-9* advanced? Stock timing marks are at 14-16-18* btdc. If you hear knock in boost, why not just do an additional boost timing retard on top of his tune, reburn your chip and try that?
And yes, detonation is way worse to have than retarded timing.

Have you though about methanol injection? I have a small *** IHI on 9psi and no intercooler, just meth/water injection and I have no pinging at all on stock timing. Hell, I even run 89 octane once in a while, just to be daring!
