Default Is it a bad BOV???

What's the sign of a bad BOV?

Well, 1st of all, I recently aquired a car with an existing setup - has a D16Z6 SOHC VTec in an '89 Honda CRX Si, still using the OBD-0 wiring configuration (no, the VTec doesn't engage without an RPM activated switch, and yes I will be switching to another ECU, a P06 chipped as a P28 eventually, just need a harness adaptor), Anyway, this car has an adapted GReddy kit, a TD04H-15G GReddy turbo, some GReddy charge pipes, a Paxton FMU, and from what I've been told, the stock 240cc injectors. When I got the car, the eGay BOV that was cold welded to the upper charge pipe WASN'T connected so I tied it into my brake booster line. Well, I didn't think about it till now (after about 5 months of pulling my hair out), that it wasn't till I connected the BOV to that source that's when I was getting the problems that I've had, a "lagging" was feeling I've been experiiencing upon massive acceleration.

Somewhere on the forums here I heard someone had a similar turbo, but their's had a BOV ON the turbo, and I misunderstood it to mean that maybe mine was set up the same way (but it wasn't). Based on that misunderstanding, it got me to thinking that maybe the "lagging" I've been experiencing upon acceleration was a boost leak associated with the BOV. So as a final attempt to fix the issue, I disconnected my BOV vacuum line and capped it off so that the BOV doesn't open... Now I don't get the lag. Is it my BOV or is it another issue?

Should I use a different vacuum source or do I have a bad BOV?

Hey thanks for the info... HAHA Yes I have some 460cc's but since I'm still using the Si ECU for now I am going to 390cc for now... I'm only boosting about 8lbs anyway, yes on stock 240cc injectors. HAHA. But yeah, 390cc within the next couple days I hope. Depends if I can trade off these 460s with the guy I got these from for some 390s he has...
