Baby H1C

Out of all the threads I have read about the holset H1C's I havent heard of anyone using the smaller one.. Is there anyone using the 7 blade 44mm inducer one? It seems like it would be a fast spooler and just figured I would ask you guys to see if anyone had any experience with them.

44mm isn't very big. It's still got a relatively large turbine wheel and large turbine housing too. It's going to spool much slower than another ~44mm turbo such as the 14b or even a 50 trim T3 (.48/.42) Why would you go with a gigantic turbine side for a mere 44mm is what I'm saying. The 14b or T3 will spool much faster and will be easier to run. They have a way better turbine vs compressor ratio (compressor is actually bigger than turbine as it should be on a gasoline application) and are a much better decision for a turbo in the 44mm range. Not to mention you can get either for ~$100. Or you could run a 60 trim T3 (aka Thunderbird turbo) that has a larger compressor than your Holset but still uses a way better sized 68 trim turbine wheel. Another option is a 16g that is closer to 47mm and retains the same TD05H turbine as a 14b, so will spool up great and get you to 300whp without much effort.

Thanks for the replies. I kind of figured that it was a lil unfavorable but just wanted someone to confirm it.
