I personally like small turbos on LS's so I suggest a regular old T3, 14b, or GT28r. Anything that will flow around 35lb/min with a moderate size turbine wheel and housing will work well.

The same exact turbocharger from garrett can be purchased for around 650$. Already a better deal for the same performance and quality.

oh and on a ls, i would recommend that same turbo but with .48 a/r. turbine

thanks guys i found some garretts for 625. I would like to see close to 300whp with room to grow. It is a track and weekend driver . My previous setup was a b18b with 10.5:1 pistons and a set of rods with a garrett t3/t4 50 trim .4 a/r and it spooled a little to fast for me. It has been over a year but i want to say i was hitting 8psi at 4500rpm. I know a bigger a/r effect the spool but how will the 60 trim with a .62? Is it over kill ?

I'm pretty sure one (tunertoys) or more of our sponsors can beat $650 on a t3/t04

How come I didn't have problems with traction getting nearly 240 ftlbs of torque at around 4000rpm with a meaty midrange but everyone who gets less torque at a later rpm complains of crazy wheel spin? The only thing I would get was crazy torque steer but what else can you expect from an open diff FWD car? Buy a turbo that suits your purpose. If you are only going to make around 300whp, buy a turbo that supports about 35lb/min. If you want to upgrade, sell the used turbo. One good thing about used turbos is they hold their value pretty well. If I were you, I'd want a Gt28r. New, you can find them for around $800. Used around $400-500.
