i have used type r oil pumps on a few ls motors, i believe all obd1-2 oil pumps are the same on the outside + or- the crank pick up

For a LS you need to use a GSR 1.8 belt though correct?

from what i know you dont need a vtec timming belt to run a vtec oil pump 0n a Ls ...
now if you have a ls and you want to use a vtec water pump you need a gsr timming belt ,

The oil pump doesnt change what timing belt is needed. If you have a vtec WATER PUMP then use a vtec belt. If you have a non-vtec WATER PUMP then use a non-vtec belt. All b series oil pumps are interchangeable.

yea pretty much. the vtec oil pump has 22 teeth, compared to 19 on the ls. so, on my b18a ls vtec im using the vtec oil and water pumps, but with a gsr tbelt

Re: b18a1 b16 oil pump ?

the 19 and 22 tooth count is on the water pump, like on my lsvtec i had a b16 water pump so a ls belt was either to small or big and a gsr was inbetween i dont qiute remember but i dont think id have a prob seeing the lower gear just slides on the crank. anyways thanks for the info
