b18a fuel and turbo questions
ok sorry if these are easy questions i should know, but i dont so i'll ask: i am planning on running stock internals on my b18a (1990) with a t25 turbo. Im only planning on running about 8-9 psi(suggestions on max boost?) and am wondering if a bigger fuel pump and an fmu will do the trick for adding fuel...im trying to keep this setup simple since it will be my first non-stock turbo....thanks, any and all info and suggestions are welcome

Re:b18a fuel and turbo questions
T25 is too small for that engine. 8psi is ok on the stock internals...

Re:b18a fuel and turbo questions
ok so how about using a 14b or maybe a t3....my main question is what i should do for my fuel system....also, at 8 psi will i need a btm?...thanks a lot

Re:b18a fuel and turbo questions
for fuel, if u are keeping the stock ecu, go with a bigger fuel pump and an fmu. and you may want to go with bigger injecters, 440cc's from 1g dsms are popular

Re:b18a fuel and turbo questions
t25 is weak but its gonna make his torque very nice.
dude vortech fmu, vortech inline 8 psi. will do wonders. trust me. |
Re:b18a fuel and turbo questions
ok thanks...i think im gonna go with the t25 cause i want the quick spool up...im trying to do this fuel setup without any afc or anything like that....no btm is necessary though with that boost, right?...any suggestions on cam gear settings with stock cams, or recommendations on new cams as well?...thanks a lot guys

Re:b18a fuel and turbo questions
retard the timing 2 degrees you should be fine.
---- a afc. do the fmu 12:1 and pump/ |
Re:b18a fuel and turbo questions
2 degrees intake and exhaust?...thanks a lot for the help im pretty lost here and dont feel like doing much trial and error and wasting money

Re:b18a fuel and turbo questions
intake. just move the distributor 2 degrees towards the inside of the car.

Re:b18a fuel and turbo questions
clarifaction..
I would go ahead and back your timing down about 4 degrees or so, or actually each setup is differnt, so I would start with your base timing and see how bad it pings underload. Then start backing it off in incriments of 2 degrees (retarded) You WILL need a timing light to do this. Jeff |
