b16a, LS tranny - .42 turbo, my setup opinions/comments..

'90 integra
stock jdm b16a motor
LS cable transmission
ITR flywheel
CTR crankpulley

"MDF" type turbo manifold
T3 from a ford thunderbird
.42 compressor

2" chargepiping & starion fmic w/ modified endtanks
2.5" downpipe w/ full exhaust (maybe a Y pipe w/ ability to open downpipe)

370cc injectors
stock fuel pump

converting to obd-1
Hondata s200 w/ boost on a p72 ecu w/ b16a turbo basemap fornow..

i guess im really worried about the .42 pulling to 8k and how it will pull with the LS tranny on the b16a.
most of the stuff i already have, need to put together, and the rest of the stuff i need to pickup (injectors, hondata)

with a chipped pw0 ecu w/ vtec @ 4300, it ran well N/A.. pulls good.. reaches 70mph in second, and 100 in third..

now im on a LS ecu because i sold my pw0 to a friend, and it runs pretty much like crap.. so it's making me really worried on how it's going to run with boost again..

this is the 3rd motor w/ boost on this car now, and 5th motor all together in the car.. im just tryin to becareful this time..

I have never had a b16/ls tranny but I think the b16 will have a hard time with the low gearing on the ls tranny. And you will need a vtec ecu.

i would try and ditch that tranny and buy a b16 tranny if you could,IMO....

wrong trans, wrong turbo.

a 60/63 is the smallest you should put on a b16 and you def need a b16 or gsr trans

i actually used a smaller turbo before on a high compression LS w/ LS transmission.. and it ran good till redline..

.60/.63 at least? i still cant find another T3 decent sized at a decent price around.. still looking though.. that's one of the pieces that i think i'll just put my setup on hold for now..

as far as the transmission though, does everyone think that the LS transmission is a bad choice for a turbo b16a setup?

even though the LS is bigger it doesnt flow as much air up top and it redlines ~1500rpm before the B16

if you cant find a 60/63 buy the 48/60 and try and find a turbine housing for it

Ill sell you a good b16 tranny, I'm actually going to start using an ls tranny in a few days. I have a much bigger motor though. My b20vtec pulls great through the short ass j1 gears, but I really hate being at 4krpm at 70mph. It makes it not fun to actually go fast, cuz I tell ya the b20 has a hell of a lot left at 70mph...
