Your asking a question without giving a price and giving future plans for the motor. Give more detail about what your wanting to do with it and spending limit.

Aren't you the guy with the 3G Prelude? I don't think any "proper" b-series is going to bolt in place of your B20A.

Also, cross anything Hype-R off your list. Hype-R is a Hype engine, it's comprised 99% of GSR or B16 parts with a post job so mild as to be unworthy of mention, the only thing unique to the Hype-R are the pistons, cams, and valves. The cams are the only thing worth owning, well no they aren't when GSRs can be had for $40-60 and are known good to 600 whp.

I like LS engines, A LOT, but there are three things to be aware of. One, the stock intake valves are 31mm and act as a restriction past 400 and a bottleneck past low 5-600's depending on cam/etc - 3G prelude 33mm intakes drop right in after you modify the seat some. Two, they are not a girdle engine so you need to fit a girdle or run a girdle block (GSR) if you want to break 500 with any long term reliability. Three, the stock cams are a form of failure and should be thrown away for anything past 250 whp streetcar duty.

You really need to state budget and power goal if you want quality input.

I have a 89 Accord my power goal i would say 280-350. This is what i have so far

Precision Injectors 580cc

T04B V-trim with a stage II Turbine Wheel

For the motor i just pick up a B18a1 for Free ;D Now should i put a Vtec head on it?

Re: Which B-Series Motor to go with?

B18A1 sleeves are garbage, if you tear off the head to do the overcomplicated and expensive LS/VTEC hassle $5 says large chunks of aluminum are chipped/chipping away from the sleeve liners.

I would have kept the SOHC B20A and done a mild cam, B16-flanged AEBS IM, etc. The iron block will get you further.

The B20a i had was not a SOHC it was a 2nd gen DOHC B20a the only reason i sold it the parts are to hard to come by and most of the perform parts had to be custom made and now i cant even find a trany for it any more but anyways here i pic
http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n...d/DSCN7379.jpg

and here what the trany looks like
