hi there my civic is auto and turbo right now running about 4 1/2 psi. and i have not noticed any kinds of power loss with having the auto tranny in it. the thing is since you have a stall converter in it the car has to get moving before you can buind up any pressure in the turbo. i.e. a standard-you can rev up at the line and get the turbo to spool quick. but with the auto the converter (unless you mash the brake and hold off the line) the car has to build up some rps. mine is about 1200rpm. dont try to put in nutral and rev it and then slam it into gear or you will either twist your flywheel plate or sheer all the little bolts that conect the tourqe converter to the plate (i did it )then the boost builds and you get all the power you need. i ve also noticed that the automatics will have constant peak boost in all gears. low thought overdrive. and that is a plus. ive seen other cars set at 10psi and only get 6-7 out of first and then in second they get 10. another advantage with the auto ive noticed is the kick down. when your crusing at say 60mph i have no boost. but if i go to push on the gas it kicks down and i doing 85mph before i can let go of the gas. since i am at 4000ft elevation i have to run better gas and a leaner mixture. whice gives me highway 40mpg and city 32mpg. and this is why i like the auto better than the standard. and i can eat a burger and smoke some v-8's at the same time.

Yeah smokin' v8 and eating a burger is nice. I like having an auto, its not a pain in traffic. I found that even with an auto trans, once you hit the gas it goes up to 2500rpms then the trans kicks in, so the boost will already be starting. I have a t25 which I've been told spools up fairly quick, so I think it should be ok. What are the specs on you car?

Hi guys, I also have an auto and plan on doin' turbo. I already got a T-25(mint), saab intercooler. I would like to know how to get the PSI of my turbo down. I've heard the stock PSI for the wastegate to open at is around 7-8ish. I would like it to be in a safe range of 4-5psi. Do I need to replace the actuator? If so, with witch one? Thanks

Nobody makes a Bolt on wastegate actuator for the T-25 that is set that low.. 8psi is as low as it goes. You can modify the stock one, my lengthing the rod, or put washers inbetween the mounting surface and the wastegate actuator mount, to push the gate slightly open. Or you can use a actuator from a 300zx and modify it to fit somehow, those are set at 5.0psi. If none of this is sounding appealing to you, just take the entire wastegate actuator off, and put a little carb return spring looped through the wastegate flapper hole and tension it slightly against the block or whatever.. it works pretty good and is safe. The more tension, the more boost.

Hey! I'm new here and love the site. I have an auto 98 Accent, and was also planning on boosting soon-the SCoupe turbo bolts right in, lol! As far as I know, if you're auto and going to use boost, you should look into a transmission cooler. It helps the tranny stay cool durring harsh use. Still, I would look into the torque converter, also.
