Default automatic civic d15b7

Hey everbody. Great site!!!!! I'm definitely going to have to run some stuff by you people in the future to see if I have thought of everything and whatnot. Before that though, I was wondering if anyone knew about any issues with turboing an automatic tranny. It has 178k on it now (approx). I have an idea of what I'm going to do and I have a couple questions that I just have to get the answers verified but the one question I can't seem to find any real answer for is about auto trannies . I did see somewhere that they have some sort of weird boost spike but I really have no idea and haven't heard much about it. Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
Great site!!! And so far (since it got back up), everyone's attitude has been really great from what i've been reading on the forums. keep it up!! and i hope i can add to the community as well
sorry for the long post

Welcome, I personally have no experience turboing any of the honda auto trannies. From what I have read on honda-tech from various users is that they seem to burn up pretty quickly when running any type of decent boost level. Now Steve (a member who has his project posted on my site) had a d15 turbo 5 speed, and then switched in the auto tranny. He said he actually liked the auto tranny better, and found no major loss in power at all!.. Maybe he can post to add a bit more... here is his setup (only pics at the momment)

Hmmm, have you (or anyone else ) heard about any problems with moderate boost levels? like about 3,4 or 5 psi?

And thanks for the thoughts so far Jeff!!

from what I've heard, they don't like more than around 170 hp on d series, you gotta upgrade the torque converter to one from someone like level 10 or something.

I'm running a turbo on a D16y8 auto. I'm installing in 2 weeks, I'll let you know how it works.
