apexi turbo timer

I got one of these the other day and in the instructions it just shows to hook it up with the harness you buy for your car....Has anyone hooked one up without the harness?(they dont make one for my car). What exactly do the 2 wires go to for the ignition(it doesnt say in the instructions)
thanks

Re:apexi turbo timer

If I had one of those I'd hook it up with ebay, spend the money on more important turbo items, and use my swatch as a turbo timer.

There should be more than 2 wires. IG1, IG2, batt, acc

Re:apexi turbo timer

it is ign1 and ign2....what specifically are those? start and run? There is 4 clicks on my ignition....

and I want it because it is also a A/f guage...

Re:apexi turbo timer

But how accurate will that AF guage be? If it's running off the stock narrow band sensor it really won't help out with tuning much at all. Your better off selling it and buying a wideband if a good A/F meter is what you want... :-\

I dont think that it really even an AF guage, it is 2 LEDs one for lean an one for rich

what are u talking about? im runin the apex timer as a a/f gauge and also teh autometer a/f gauge. the timer actually gives you a number of your a/f instead of two lights. its stays steady intead of jumping all over the place like the autometer. i have to say it was pretty accurate at full throttle.

Re:apexi turbo timer

hell no i didnt get the harness. that would nt be the hmt way but i forgot how the wires go. :-\ i think its only using one of the red ones going to the ignition. ill take a look at it today.

ok here it is. one of the red cables goes to a thick black/white cable. the other one goes to the thick black/yellow wire. and theres a third red wire that isnt doing ----.

it is for a sunfire.....what I need to know is what the wires go to...not wire colors...but what function of the ignition (start, run etc...)

Red - 12v constant supply
Green - Ignition 1 output
Blue - Ignition 2 output
Grey - taps into the parking brake wire
Black - ground
White - 02 sensor

hope this is what you meant
