so i just put on my apex bov. i nevery really hear it actually blow off in first gear. in any other other gear it blows but pretty quiet. This was on a car previously with more boost then i have now. Is there a way to adjust it because it seems that it will only blow off if i really get on the car. let me know if you have one or know it it could be ajusted thank you.

 

start off by cutting a coil in the spring, check to see if it has washers under the spring and remove them, take the car for a test drive, before cutting the coil. if no washers, cut off 1 coil and take it out for a test drive.

 

so you actually have take it apart to the inside and physically cut the spring? then just put back in. im not sure about that because on top of the bov theres a nut that i assume can be adjusted. i dont think those springs were ment to be cut. did you actually do this to a apex bov? or is that something you would do to all bovs?

 

I would suggest getting the owners manual for your BOV. If it says that the nut is for adjustment, then use that. If not, which i suspect, open it up to be sure nothing has been modified before. If there are washers or spacers, then take them out and try it. Otherwise yes cutting the spring is a viable way to change things. Just don't cut too much off, it is harder to add to a spring then remove some.

 

have you tried rotating the clip on the body? there should be 3 sets of holes resulting in different sounds.
