Anyone Turboed a D15B7?

ok, so i have a chance to pick up a 92 4-door 5-speed DX for 600. Its a 5 speed, and has 215,000 miles on it. the dude wants to get rid of it in a hurry and im afraid if i don't jump on it now i won't get it.

anyway, i have a 94 si hatch that ive already got enough parts for the tubo kit im piecing to gether, so i figure i can throw a turbo on this DX and sell it to cover the cost of the parts on my SI.

I know these D15B7s have a little lower compression ration (9.2 I think), a shorter stroke to give the 1.5L, and no vtak, but other than that, I don't see why it would be that much different that puttin a turbo on a d16z6 motor.

Is chipping a p06 any different from chipping a p28?
Other than that, I don't think there's anything seriously different in the two.

So has anyone out there put a turbo on a B7? If so, what are your thoughts about it.

It's all d-series ---- so whatever you put on a Z6 with work on that B7. The B7 isn't very forgiving when you start tossing boost at it. It's like the D15B2 but just has MPFI. As for that P06, it's basically just a P28 with some circuitry that can be added for cheap and voila..vtec control.

There are a few people on the pgmfi forum running about 200whp on d15's with similar issues to the z6, pencil thin rods etc. can't hurt, but is turbo'ing a $600 beater really worth it? Why not just rag it around and build your Si in to a beast.

boost it, blow it up, replace with $100 motor, repeat

those little d15s come alive with boost. they will last AWHILE with a good tune too.

i had a d15b7 in my last civic...my black one...i put a t3/t4 57 trim on it and pushed 10psi all day long with a fmu and missing link...beat the ---- out of it and it never blew...drove it for 3 months with no problems then it got stolen

The whole to pay for parts thing i mentioned

I don't want this dx for a daily, i think i can turn a profit on it if there's no to a little rust on the body.

and I'd be running a 14b probably around 7 psi since thats the turbo/bov combo i have handy.
