Anyone try this EGAY BOV yet?
 

Has anyone tired the HKS style SSQV type of Blow off valves, they are like 50 bucks, just wanted to see if they are worth it or should i buy the real thing

it leaked from the center valve plunger thingy. i rebuilt it 3 times and it still leaks. get a dsm bov. theyre cheap and effective.

Naa i want the HKS sound and ill pay for a real HKS one. Does yours sound like a real HKS, with the chirp and everything

I have the type S and the S stands for ----! I had to take it apart to get it to work right. Removed the stiffer of the 2 springs and adjusted the top. Seems to work decent now. Ne3ek was the one that showed me how it worked.

i have a cheap ebay BOV and it has worked great for 2 weeks. there really isnt much to mess up on mine though. no diaphrams or anything. just a brass piston in an aluminum housing with a spring. it isnt realy loud but i can hear it so its good enough. ill take a pic if anyone is interested

and i just installed it today with my home made types to hks adapter pipe/flange lol... holding 20psi strong. i took it apart today just to see if all is well. its 100% identical as lon as you get the right one... there are 2 knockoff's right now that copy hks...

This bov with the round end near the vac nipple is the retarded knockoff which leaks cuz its mostly plastic...

How'd you rig yours up? I went to one spring when I was running just the single vacuum line... but once I ran both lines to the bov... i found that the two springs worked fine and its response rate was awesome.

almost identical... you can even use the hks inserts to change the sound of the bov... i took out the insert on mine jus to see if i could swap it out with the hks ones n its the same...

the gold one just replaces the silver for "looks" but the purple one is supposed to give it a more low toned wistle rather then super high pitch... i like the regular sound tho... starting to like it better then the type s

you musta got super duped... i have the same exact bov at 20+psi n its holding great... i had 1 problem earlier... hit 23 on accident then the bov started leaking... opened it up n noticed the allen screw's were loose n i could breath through it easily so that was my leak. tightened it and now its back to good...

like i said, i rebuit mine 3 times. its chinese ----. you want to gamble? the get the fake ----. but it sounds like you wont on your $60 gamble. confuckengradulations to you. rex and i said that ours leaked. so its up up you. a real one or a dsm would be a wise purchase.

god what crawled up ur ass n died? man i know a real one is worth it... it better be for ------ 200 bux... a 1st gen dsm bov worked okay for me but not above 20psi.
