Default Anyone run a t3/t04e on a sohc?

Just curious if anyone runs a t3/t04e on a sohc and whats your setup is like and your thoughts of it. I've always run rhb5 on all my setups just for price and availability of them at my local pick and pull. Now that I've decided to pipe up and make a nice turbo kit. I bought a turbonetics t3/t04e 50 trim stage 3 wheel for a nice price and never have ran a t3 before I'm just wondering is this gonna be like a night and day difference? Hell for the price I couldn't pass it up even if it's gonna be too big or I won't see boost till like 5k. Yeah I know your probably gonna be like ummm night and day, try like...... It's going on a z6 shortblock with a y5 head. Yeah yeah why the hx head but I just like the rollerrockers. Don't ask but vtec activates on 3.5k on my chipped p28 for it so it actually pretty nice.

This is a pretty vague question, but in short, yes.

i have a sohc vw motor with 2L displacment. i was running a 50 trim t043 with a stg 2 .63 ar hotside.
worked fine but i would get surging when i slowly lifted up the throttle during boost.

i now run a "super 57 trim" t04e with a stg 3 .63 ar hotside. i like it better.

boost start at like 2750rpm, full boost by like 4k

I rode in my buddy's z6 with the same size turbo and it lags but boost hits super deluxe at 5k........I'd switch to a 48 housing, that would make it a perfect turbo imo.
