Anyone build heatshields for their turbo?
I was thinking about doing that for mine. I have some nice aluminum sheet metal that is pretty thick. The question is, will just a sort of roof over the turbo do the trick or do I need to completely enclose the thing. I would like to keep some heat out of the engine bay.

idk if alum is the best thing that close to the engie, not saying it will melt, but there is a chance, and it gets really hot fast, but on the other hand it might obsorb the head and take some away.
I think a better way would be to like make a scoupe, or raise the back of the hood with washers to raise it so hot air can excape easyer, if i were to i would use some ss for a heat sheild, but it wouldnt hurt to try your idea thow. whatever helps is good. ps the washers go inbetween the hood and latches lol :P

i'm doing the washer trick...and i'm gonna sandwich some really smashed up ceramic pots in between sheet metal and weld it closed...the ceramic SHOULD be amazing and disipating the heat
