Default Any reccomendations of what Clutch to use??

I am lightly building my d16y8 with tt rods and vitara pistons, and arp headstuds, everything else will be stock. I plan to push about 300 whp or in that range. I am looking at 4 different clutches.

First is a cheap ebay clutch, the xtd "stage 3" clutch, sounds like some have had good luck with it, and then a few have not. $150 shipped, and it is a 6 puck sprung, says it can hold 300, or 278 tq i think

the others are

lsd motorsports brand clutch
with heavy duty pressure plate and 6 puck sprung disk $283 shipped

lsd heavy duty pp and 6 puck unsprung disk $263 shipped
http://store.lsdmotorsports.com/merc...ode=CL-HH04-U6

act heavy duty pp and 6 puck unsprung ( they said 4 puck was more aggressive) $314 shipped
what quality are the lsd clutches?
all prices are through lsd.
So for the lsd 6 puck sprung disk sounds best to me, can you guys help to point me in the right direction.

I am looking for a clutch that will hold the power I will be making, last a little while, and this car will still be my daily driver. A little extra chatter when engaging is ok, but i dont want more noise while it is driving (or already engaged)

Just get a Good pressure plate and use a stock disc.

The only advice I can suggest...seeing as I sell clutches for a living...is if you are going to drive this on the street (daily driver...), get a dampened disc (sprung). It will save your trans. The only other thing that I can tell you is that of you use a ceramic (puck) disc on a stock flywheel...you WILL be locating a new flywheel the next time you need a clutch.

I wish I could be more help, but I sell stock stuff almost all the time. The company I work for does sell Exedy, but we don't do enouph volume to compete with the on line people.

If they acually posted specs on clamp load, I could be alot more help, but it doesn't surprise me that they don't show any of the REAL specs, seeing as most of these clutch are modified versions of stock stuff, so they don;t really know what the exact numbers are. Moat of them go by trial and error when they are buillding clutches. (as in, they try it on different setups to see if it holds in different cars...)

This guy cracks me up!! with his description of this clutch... This may be able to hold around 300 HP like he says, but the part that makes me LOL is his description of the "iron" pressure plate. Honda has never used iron for any clutch ever...what a moron! I'm willing to bet that it is a stock pressure plate with a paint job and "XTD" sticker covering the Daikin clutch logo (looks like a little pair of wings) The ONLY thing giving this clutch any extra holding power is the disc. OH, I did notice one more thing...this one "lasts longer than the stock clutch" BULLSHIT! The disk may last longer, but when it wears a 1/4" groove into your flywheel, it won't hold anymore...(it might last pretty well on a stainless FW though)

so with a clutch that is strong enough to hold over 250 whp it will pretty much eat up a stock clutch? Thats really not what I was looking to hear.

My friend have a Spec stage III 6 puck sprung in his turbo probe GT and it was pretty badass..he didn't even break it in, he just did a big rollback and the clutch is still good to this day..been like 2 years. But another friend of mine has a Exedy stage 1 clutch in his integra and it has really nice pedal feel and it grips like a ****. When I buy another clutch its def. going to be an exedy.
