any one happy with a cheap ebay bov?
 

I sold my crx and it had a 1g bov on it and it was quite as ----, I dont want anything crazy loud or expensive for my new hatch but something louder than a 1g. Anybody happy with there ebay knockoff valves? Maybe a greddy style? or are they the ssautochrome of bov's :P

I've got a XOXO Greddy Type S bov and it's an exact copy inside and out since I had a real one to before. For half the price it's worth it. I've used a couple of the ebay bov and never had any problems with them. Never used a ssauto but don't see how you can mess up a bov. The Monza clamp on style are nice and cheap. not too loud and look good.

I've got a knockoff turbo xs RFL. It has 2 horns instead of one, and doesnt sound anything like the RFL but I love it anyways. Works good, sounds good.

a friend of mine bought a greddy type s knockoff from ebay for $80 and it looked and sounded just like mine, we even took it aprat and it was the same. i would buy one if i needed one ;D

i have this one, nice solid swoosh, but I wouldn't mind going to something a little more sharp and chirpy like the sound above.

I bought an HKS SSQV knockoff for $90 shipped

everyone so far has said its the exact same sound as a real hks for 1/3 the price

That type s must be on a Supra or something because mine sounds nothing like that. I wish it did though lol, at 10lbs in a D its a nice pssssht but crisp.

i think bov is one of the most important thing in a turbo kit,i like the greddy type rs,it sort of sounds like greddy s mix with blitz

yeah,well u got ricer coners,im not a ricer but the sound is pretty important,ever drive a turbo w/o a bov that sucks

Naw it doesn't, Compressor surge sound awsome, BIG turbos on BIG cars at the track don't run BOVs and DAMN do they sound cool when they shift. Comp Surge with an open DP and Open intake is one hell of a sound.

Again the rice corners FREE at the junkard. Good ol' tool box takeout.

And earier, thinking a BOV is the most important part? A bov doesn't even function without the turbo, so it can't be the most important part!

i coulda swore u lived closer and was trying to come to the meet last year in LA?? i think any car that is yellow looks ------ stupid. i call it rice cuz all old ass uncles and grandpa's be tryin to feel young so they put clear corners and bright ass paint jobs such as yellow.

if a bus wasn't a bus then i'd call it rice. but its a damn school bus... make sense atleast. if it was a bus full of old ass people bumpin loud music with neon under lights i'd call it rice...

sound is important? u realize all u have to do is run a recirc tube into the intake and you wont hear it right? ::)
the pressure venting is whats important. whether it makes a sound or not is just personal preference.
