Another question about my damn 300zx Garrett turbo
I had a recent post about how this b*tch uses some other size oil feed fitting than the majority of Garrett turbos (still don't know what the hell it is but it isn't 1/8npt) and now I'm starting to see that it's leaking some oil through the seals.
Ok, some people are telling me this turbo from the single turbo 300zx's uses a t2 CHRA. Does anyone know for sure? If it happens to be a t3 can I find a CHRA from most any Garrett t3 and use my housings? I know the wheels would have to be the same size. I already have a nice little downpipe fabbed up with a special flange Weir Racing made to work with this turbo since it's some funky 5-bolt. I don't want to have to fab another one. |

any chance I can get a copy of that flange, I think I might have a similar turbo

Re:Another question about my damn 300zx Garrett turbo
What year 300zx? 84-87 were T3. 88-89 was T25.
The oil feed flange can probably be bought pretty easily. I actually have some of the wastegate housings for those. They're the 5 bolt pattern and work with the internal wastegate. They're heavy cast bitches. |
Re:Another question about my damn 300zx Garrett turbo
did you try what i told you last time? you will never find that thread at a hardware store. trust me ive tried. you have to take the stock fitting off and take it to them so they can make some sort of adapter for you.

---- all that ----.
I tapped mine with a 1.8NPT tap and blew the turbo out with compressed air from both directions to ensure there were no metal shavings left ion there. Then i ran a 1/8npt to -4an SS earls line (because im a gangsta) to the T on the back of the block. efM0B |
Re:Another question about my damn 300zx Garrett turbo
Nate, contact Weir Racing for a flange.
It turns out I have a t-25. For those of you that have the same turbo the oil feed fitting is a number 4 IF (inverted flare) A local hose shop had a male -4an to #4 IF. They hooked me up with a teflon encapsulated ss braided oil feed line for $18. |
