THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!! |

Thats the same turbo I was running on my old set up the wastegte press. is set at 7 psi. Used a MBC to set at 13 psi couldnt hold it. heres a pic of it next to my new turbo a Garrett GT32 on the left.

Re: another ihi question
it is a spark plug thats what the guy i bought it from put in it to plug the hole i guess. i will be doing it right with a real plug. what can i expect from this turbo at 7psi.first boost setup so i am not looking to go to crazy.

Re: another ihi question
I have IHI on my setup. Its IHI Rbh5 VJ20......
It Out of 1800cc Mazda GTX (BPT/JDM Turbo spec.) Your pic. show the same exhaust bolts pattern as mine but turbine outlet side is diff. So, what's the rest of your Rbh5 code.......? VJ10, VJ11 or ? (any number still there?) just try to help :) P.S. This link might help......right now I guess its Rhb5 VJ10 (I might be wrong) check out the pic close to the end in that link. http://www.fordlaser.com/forum/viewt...&highlight=ihi |
Re: another ihi question
i dont really have a problem with this turbo boost comes on nice an it pulls all the way to redline on my d15b non vtec
in first i cant time switching to 2nd as the rev jus shoot to redline the blink of an eye CRAZY |
Re: another ihi question
thats what i had hoped for was great response time i will be spinning it up too about 73-7400rpms.where did you get your airhorn for it UBCNME i want to get one like it.
if i ever get a day off i am going to install it!! this turbo is gated at like 5lbs the guy i bought it from set it for that but i am going to pull 7lbs on it for an extra ummmpppphhhh!!! |
Re: another ihi question
i am running 7psi but the clutch aint holdinf but 6k rpm is like the sweet spot!! when if hits that all hell breaks loose O0

Re: another ihi question
that's a t-bird rhb5, the biggest rhb5 available, the cold side is good for 350cfm on a 1.6L at 15psi and 7000 rpm, problem is the hotside is kinda small, spools fast tho, I run one on my Toyota 1.6 dohc and it has no problem making good boost by 2500 rpm and holding 13 psi to 7500 rpm. I think it could go 15-16 psi on my engine, that's about it. Agreed it's still a fairly small turbo, but you can't compare IHI to Garrett by physical size, it's like comparing apples to oranges, the IHI are designed to spin at higher rpm than a Garrett and are smaller and lighter internally so they don't need to be as big to push the same amount of air, and make boost quicker. every turbo has it's pro and cons, I think these are great for a fun street car with good bottom end and strong midrange.
They are the only IHI that uses NPT water fittings, also has an odd ball oil feed fitting, and it has a T3 flange. Neil |

Re: another ihi question
I run one on my z6.. pulls great.. i have small exhaust leak on Ex. Mani.. but starts spoolin late 2k rpms.....Holds until maybe 6 1/2k it hits 10 psi and breaks traction great,,,,, Got old kinda fast though... it was free.. OH WELL... currently in build process looking for a .60/63 or something..48/60 ATLEAST looking for something that will hold 18-20psi.....But as fars as the IhI.... lots of fun light to light..

Re: another ihi question
so i caould buy a manifold with a t3 flange and it will bolt on.i thought it had a very common looking flange but wasnt sure.

Re: another ihi question
