another external wg ques
 

i have an ihi with an internal gate on it and just bought a mani equipped with extaernal gate flange and buying deltagate with dumptube from silentdaredevil2 now my question is instead of making a new dp to get rid of the internal gate couldnt i just undo the wg rod on my turbo. please correct m eif i am wrong

Disconnecting the wastegate rod will leave the internal wastegate port open, and you won't make any boost. You could just disconnect the vaccuum line to your internal wastegate and weld it shut.

Most people replace the flange on their downpipe with a blockoff flange that covers the internal wastegate port completely.

wont blocking off the wastegate port on the downpipe effect boost? cant you just remove the whole unit, wastegate rod and the flapper valve? then weld the rod hole shut?

It won't affect boost, that port is only used when the wastegate opens. Yes I already said that you can weld the hold shut also.
