another 4.0 jeep turbo project

i recently turboed A 4.0 cherokee i used a ebay chinese special it has a .63 ar turbine and a .50 compress. my question is how much faster will a .48ar turbine spool with this app. im building this rig for sand drags and mud racing i need it to be pretty quick to spool up. it seems a little laggy now but i dont wanna choke it out before 5k rpm. i havent gotten to change injector sizes or any thing yet,its still a working progress. thanks in advance

i say the .48ar turbine housing should spool up around 1500-2000 rpm. that is a very small housing. choking at top end will be an issue but its a truck so your motor will most likely never be spending large amounts of time in upper rpm range.

Thanks for replying. I have another dumb? If i change the exhaust housing do i need to change the tur bine wheel or do all the t3 style wheels and housings interchange. I know there is different trims on the turbine but im not sure if they have to match

swapping turbo parts is not a good idea. machine work and balancing is required. it would be cheaper to just buy another turbo with the specs you want.

you dont need to balance if just replace the turbine
