Default Alright, maybe some of you have a suggestion why my motor quits out under boost

Hey guys,

I have a b16 with a t3 on it and a tial wg set at 7.5 pounds. Im using a vafc hack set correctly with 450's. The car runs good and can boost. I just did a compression check and the numbers turned out great. The problem is when I hit full boost at 7.5 pounds around 5k rpm, the motor like literally just wants to stop accelerating entirely. It doesn't ping, clunk, or chug...or make any nasty noises.....it simply just quietly wants to stop any acceleration. Its not the ecu going into limp mode because it doesn't throw a cel and I don't have to reset it. Any ideas what this may be?

Are you using a filter? Try some screen and see if that fixes it for you.

That sounds like a good idea, i'll remove my filter and post back. Thanks. Btw, when I say am not accelerating at full boost, I mean I literally have to change gears because the rpm increase is coming to a dead stop.

what size T3? if its a smaller trim size then its prolly running out of steam up top.. thats what my RHB5 did at 5500rpms, just felt like a normal car after that.. just an idea

No, I mean I literally CANNOT accelerate once i hit full boost.

I figured it was my intake sucking in exhaust gas from the wastegate opening under hood since I don't have a return for it welded yet, but people said that bwouldn't be it, and even after blocking the wg port off it still does it.

damn that really sounds like a cluster ----.

Remember a motor needs air, fuel, spark to operate.

Think it's possible that the boost is pushing fuel away.. like on a carb motor with a non boost-referenced essentric fuel pump?

That could very well be it. When I first got my setup together the half downpipe I had put exhaust gases into the intake. The car bogged really badly and would hardly go anywhere, I took the downpipe off and it fixed it. But if you say you blocked it off then I guess that's not it.
