Airresearch turbo ?s

Whats going on hmt? Just had a few questions about this turbo I picked up for really cheap and what the potential of it was on a B18b. Sorry for the bad pics.
The person who sold it to me told me it was a T3 60 trim turbocharger, Ford 2.3 Thunderbird / turbo coupe / Xr4Ti compressor w/ .48 exhaust turbine. Also Im still a noob when it comes to reading compressor maps so if anyone could tell me the efficiency of the turbo it would be appreciated as well. Does anyone know where to get the brass fitting that goes onto the compressor so i can attach it to my boost controller? http://blaastperformance.com/flowcharts/60-trim-map.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a53...20091638-1.jpg Attachment 7765 http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a53...0620091611.jpg compared to a holset |
geez compressor map for dumbasses. how much boost and to what rpm are you going to turn your motor?

turbo calculator

I want to know if the turbo would be efficient for my powerband with a stock LS redline. Im worried it will run out of breath at the top on a bseries. I should have mentioned my power goal. I'm trying to make 250-280whp; Im not sure how much psi I would have to run to reach that goal. I dont want to throw it on my car if its just making hot air and no power at the top.
|
who makes the turbo. and i doubt that you will be throwing hot air it a small turbo and. will you have injectors
|
who gives a ---- how he is going to fuel it. i will look at a real comp map right now for this poor guy and tell him exactly what psi he will need and how many rpm to make 280whp
|
ok at 7000 rpm you will need 14.9 psi of boost assuming you have a 90% VE and a decent intercooler. this doesnt take into effect any other variable other than displacement rpm boost pressure ratio and simulated fuel flow. this in turn will place you in the 72% compressor efficiency island which i am not sure that is even accurate in lame mans turms this turbo should do what you want it to

Cool. Thank you very much sir. Still wondering what that vacuum fitting is called that connects to turbo compressor and where I can find it on the cheap online.
|
my best advise would be HOME DEPOT and hit up the plumbing section
|
Damn I tried looking for the pipes that connect to the compressor inlet/outlet. Anyone know where to find these or will I have to have extensions welded on?
