update: problem found i think... video link http://www.badongo.com/vid/124453

so i seen a little oil by the flange of my j pipe where it connects to the compressor (14b) and figured id take off my hose and check it out in there, well i found almost no oil, just a thin film of it like any dirty engine part.. but i noticed little metal flakes.. havent took anything else off but im guessing the minimal shaft play it had when i got it must have gotten bad enough so the fins started touching the side, sound right? im not expert on turbos.. sucks cause i've only had it for like 1k miles maybe

so how much is a rebuild kit for a 14b? if i keep driving will it be to damaged possibly to rebuild? im not sure how much of these flakes are actually maing it through the pipes and intercooler to the intake but now im kinda nervous

14b's aren't worth rebuilding.

is there evidence this is from your turbo? I only ask because I received some IC piping that had shards of metal in them (from the manufacterer)... didn't bother to clean it out :P

But since you've gone 1k miles already... that ---- would most likely blown out by now. Hmmmm.

thats the stock j pipe commin right off the turbo.. the only piping before that is the intake which is 2.5" exhaust pipe the kind that bends with a filter in my bumper

Mine looked a little like that after I cut the pieces apart and filed the ends. I just used a garden hose and flushed it all out. Used a rag to clean up all the manufacturing oil and stray pieces and that was that. Let it dry and reinstall. Same thing with my intercooler.

By the way, do you run with a filter or screen? ???

best way to find out is to check the comp wheel

for sure. pull off the compressor housing to see if its fucked up. If you can't tell. take a picture and post it up

what do you mean - after you cut your pipes? ya i cleaned all mine out.. pretty sure this must be commin from the turbo.. it seems to be blowin a little oil too. and i use a filter, i dont see why people use screens unless they just dont care cause id think alot of small ---- could get through those
