Affordable options?
 

Considering going a different direction with my small block rear engine dragster. 406 sbc, powerglide, 6800 stall, mechanical injection with methanol. 8200 rpm in the traps.
Making roughly 760 hp now. Would like to make 1000 or so. As soon as I start looking at turbos, It seems like they are all $3k or so. Anything more affordable that can be used in this application?

I'm not sure what class racing rules this is subject to, but 1000 hp on methanol should be reachable with a Garrett GT45 or even one of the no-name Chinese clones of that design.

No class rules. All bracket racing. Quick spooling for easy, no drama staging would be a big benefit though. Those turbos are a lot cheaper than ones that have been suggested to me.
I run methanol, and would not be planning on an intercooler.
