I've used both that AEM and PLX M-300 and they are both good, no problems and easy to use. I've heard of peopole having problems with the LC-1 just dying but I have no experiece with them so i'm not going to say good or bad. I personally like the PLX M-300 because i'm not a big fan of having round guages all over the place.

AEM is not a very well designed or calibrated unit. I do not trust them, I do not recommend them.

The older LC-1 units had a problem with analog outputs dying if the output went too high, due to a design problem. Innovate warranties all these units and you don't have to be the original owner or have paperwork to get the warranty. I've been given a couple freebie dead units and turned around and warrantied them. I suspect they fully warranty all their later units, as well.

PLX M-series are decent barebones units, very simple and easy to use.

The NTK units are inexpensive and work well, also.

Innovate.

No debate when compared to an AEM P.O.S.

Re: AEM or Innovate

some car mag in the states did a big test on a bunch of them, and aem and innovate were the only ones accurate to 0.1 afr readings. the rest were about 0.5afr out. not really good enough. i would expect the ngk to be a good unit. the innovate has two programmable outputs, and some decent datalogging software, its also got the right attitude as a company. i could be wrong, but i thought the aem one only had one output? i'd certainly choose the innovate. and only the lc1, as its cheap to build a digital display based on 1-2v output. and as a bonus, no one wants to steal your home made display, unlike fancy guages.

I really don't like the NGK unit. The display has a ridiculously slow response time and the non programmable output doesn't play well with Honda ECUs without modifying the O2 input in the ECU itself.

It is however, a very simple and easy to use unit. It just lacks in flexibility, and IIRC accuracy according to that same article.
