Additional Injectors

I've all ways been a carb guy, but I'm considering adding an additional injector into the charge pipe ike you see with the old greddy kits. What do you use to control the additional injector? Remember I'm running a blowthrough carb so I allready have EFI fuel pressure and such so that isn't an issue. I'm considering using a bosch mechanical injector from old VW's that would only opens with a WOT switch. That way I can run smaller jets in the carb for better gas mileage, but still have fuel on demand when I need it. Any information on that, or ways to control two high impedance injectors would be great.

megasquirt.

but in reality your idea is a big PITA, just get a better carb (get a dual carb... 1 small runner/intake... 1 big ass one)

Dual carbs (2 of them) suck for blow through. Terrible to get them to sync n/a let alone turbo. I think you're refering to a progressive carb with two seperate chokes. It's a rx7 BTW with a weber 45dcoe... The HKS turbo kits for the rx's in he 80's was a weber with 2 additional injectors on the carb hat. Down draft DGEV carbs like you speak of are worlds behind DCO's. I thought about megasquirt, but doesn't it require TPS? That'd be a bitch to fab to my carb. and at that point I might as well go FI

I have an SDS extra injector controller in my truck but its the 4 injector model. It works great in my truck. I have great success using it in my truck. My truck you see is throttle body injected, it has 2 injectors in the TB. Its a blow through turbo system. I got the SDS and bought a blank fuel rail and drilled and tapped the fuel rail to accept 4 440cc RC INJECTORS. here's a pic. of my set up.

Hey thanks for the link, but it specifically says that it is not sutited for DIS systems which mine is, kinda... You see I use the magnetic pickup in the dizzy for a trigger for the ignition, so it's kinda half dizzy half DIS. DAMN SON!!! this is going to be tougher than I thought...

Yea those are garbage... the stock 12a carb flows more than a dgev or similar weber. they're good in some pissedon cars, but not for my use. Guys run dual DGEV's on stock ported 12a's. I have a street port 13bt there's no way a DGEV would flow enough to make anything over 150-75whp. I'm allready making about 250.

I did a weber 32/36 setup on a honda, it worked pretty damn well. The gas mileage was about 15 mpg or sometimes worse on a 1.5 ew setup. All hard racing above 5000 rpm to 8200 rpms.
