True true. You must have the rare 96 1/2 model for that generation car. Its called a type s. Finding one is hard, but once you do, its a must to boost that gutless peace of junk.

What are you talkin about jagojon3, everyone knows that you have to use the 3.0l 5-cyl D30G7 if ya wanna make any power! Gosh, you have gotta be kidding me man, trying to throw that guy the D16kissmyass type s motor! You should be ashamed!

On the real though, OBD2a to OBD1 harness, P28(a lot others work) ECU, chip kit, tuning software, chip burner.

Then again the biggest question I have is......do you run an automatic transmission? If you do, may wanna swap it, cause the auto ain't gonna work if you chip that ----.

Bullshit, bullshit bullshit mother fucker, stop mirroring everything you hear on the internets :1 :1 :1 Chipped p06 and p28 worked fine on my auto, shifted great and had no cels. Suck on it ::)

I've got a chipped p28 for ya, $140 shipped let me know.

And this was on a 96-00 Sinister? What's been all this stuff about an extra board on the ECU etc etc? I thought some had a board attached and some had the board built in, and that in order to keep the automatic working, one had to go through a bunch of ---- like getting an automatic ecu first and also a burnt ecu with the added functionality? or something to that extent? Is what I've heard wrong then??

Now that you say it, I wonder how much different the transmissions are for 96-00... I own a 93... but when you have a chipped ecu he's already be running the same ecu's as me... so hmm... My buddy Tim was the one who did all the chipping ----, the one ecu he tried was a manual and the other auto and they both worked..

yea i'm rather curious about this. i keep thinking they shifted differently between the 5th and 6th gen automatics. if i had a buddy around here with a stock tuned manual y8 ecu i'd be willing to check it out. haha

WTF do you mean... do you even know what a chipped ECU entails, does, etc? You need a map burned to the chip for your car and tuned by someone, who would have a laptop. Or, tune it yourself, but no offense, I think that might be a bit past you...
