Acutally I thought of that awhile back, but haven't got a chance to actually build one. I only built on in CAD.

haha, you aren't the only one, I had this idea also. I got ideas brewing in my head, just don't have any money, metal, and gas to lay it down at the moment.

that mani looks pretty good 8)............I'm assuming you bought the bends locally and was wondering what type of place would sell these? I've checked with alot of metal places and they don't have them. I'd order them from Mcmaster but I hate being raped with charges when it crosses the border. :'(

Looks great!!

I'm hoping to do something like that first. Need to buy my TIG welder before however. :)

I made a couple mani's with a mig and..let's just say..UGLY AS HELL!

I really like that one. I guess you'll be using a internal wastegate?

also, that oil feed line looks really big, do you have a reducer?

Last thing, do you use AN wrenches to keep them nice and purdy like that?

Hey Aaron, What's the name of the place you got the elbows? I was going to get them online, but are you paying $6 CAN or USD. If it's CAN great, It would be worth my drive then because the Cheapest online is 6.50 USD or so.

I like your oil setup.

On that note, I'm curious where you learned to weld. Did you teach yourself or take any classes?

oil lines: that is an oil cooler infront of the turbo. in the one pic you can see the oil filter sitting on top of the remote filter adapter that i made from billet aluminum.

cost for the manifold: probably $35-$40US. i made the flanges so they were basically free. this is cost of materials only. if you wanted to buy the flanges from me they would be $33 for the head flange and $22 for the turbo.

thats one hellova job on the mani,
wanted to ask you about your oil cooler, is it a straight cooler, or to you have it hooked up so that it opens the feed line to the cooler when it reaches a certain temp?

gon3r 05-12-2005 01:39 AM

Re: my hm manifold *more pics*

it is constantly running oil through the cooler.

bumblezc 05-12-2005 09:46 PM

Re: my hm manifold *more pics*

Same here, Constantly running through my cooler. I have a temp gauge and it doesn't take too long to get up to temp.

I started building one of these like a week before the elf came out. Its just now finally getting welded up. Maybe you stole the idea.
