I hope I can get it taken care of without it costing too much. Its a reputable shop, so hopefully they will take care of me. If things don't work out there I will definitely be building the shortblock myself this time, and will likely be looking for a new crank if anyone can get a hold of one.

I don't know if I will be getting it running to soon though. Its about to get cold here, and its just sitting on the curb next to my buddies house. I don't have anywhere to work on it currently, thanks to backstabbing supposed "best" friends. Can't wait till some african american puts a bullet in that ******.

Wow, sweet ****. That REEALY sucks that its toast ATM.

I have a few questions, since this is so exciting. In say 2nd gear, what are the spool rpms, like boost starts at X rpm, full boost (VGN open) at Y rpm, etc. I ask because "D16Y8-Z6" had an H1C on his D16, which is similar in size to the HX40. If you get full boost 1k rpm sooner with the VGT over the HX40...that means this turbo would probably spool better than an HY35 on a D, but make more power than the HX40 (roughly). It might be a bit big for a D, but likely the holy grail for B's - especially for the price. There are two on fleabay for $350/shipped via buy it now.

God, ---- me for just paying my school bill!!!!

H1C is like an Hx35 in size, some are smaller than the Hx35 some are the same size. H1E is similar in size to an Hx40.

Getting spool numbers in 2nd is going to be impossible until I get the thing running again. Most of my tuning pulls were in 3rd and 4th gear.

Well all I'd really need is that info for any gear. I want to make a rough estimate what RPM it would spool on a 1.6L or 1.8L, and your datalog graphs just seem to show instant boost. Basicly if you started really low RPM, any gear, and can tell me when you got 10-20psi, I'd really be happy.

As for the turbo compairo, well it was late and all I found was the d16/H1C dyno and the compressor size of the HX40.

Edit: I think I found your dsm posts, is this info right?? If so... very rough math would put a 1.6L Honda spooling that turbo around 4k. That would in turn lead me to believe you could get over 4k rpm worth of powerband, and a shitload of HP. A 'typical' 57trim'd Honda can make a bit over 400whp, but hits 10psi around 4.5-5k rpm. This is so awsome, I think I'd buy the turbo just to say I stuck my winky into it!! (and with a 60mm inducer, it just might fit :P )

Yes those are my posts. I'll see if I can dig up a couple more logs to post.

Remewber that is with open exhaust, so full exhaust will most likely slow the spool some. Its so damn quiet open exhaust though. I don't want one hardly except for fumes.

Thanks, I recall seeing it was 8" of exhaust. I'd prefer the turbo to be a tad smaller, but...I think the price makes it far better than anything else.

BTW do you have any links to a 2.4L DSM running a Garrett 57trim (or the 50trim, which is like a "fpgreen" or something?)? That would make compairing it to a Honda easier. Thanks! Good luck with the bearings, too.

aero, I am not completely familiar with the type of grafts you posted as I did not see RPM and speed on them. Are you pushing any boost at idle, and at what RPM is your engine before your boost needle starts to move from zero?

No it doesn't spool nearly that fast.
VGT fully closed, and in 4th gear if I remember right
1800 1psi
2000rpm 3psi
2500 8psi
2600 10 psi

I think it wolud be fantastic if they had one of these similar in size to a 50 trim. There would be a ton of uses for it.
I will look and see if I can find any graphs for a 50trim on a 2.4l THe FP green behaves a bit different than a typical 50trim because it uses a MHI TD06H turbine wheel instead of a garrett wheel.
