i was told that with that model stang you had to remove the engine to get the oil pan off. link if that if drilled you might need to find someone in your area with a cherry picker because you most likely have a bunch of metal in there. but if you dont want to do that then go get some stong magnets andput then on the bottom of the pan along with a magnetic drain plug. i like to use the magnets from harddrives. you should be able to get some out by dragging the magnet across the pan then just leave them on for peace of mind

you need to do something before you run the motor, running oil through it won't help... they big *** shavings will plug the oil pickup. and the little *** shavings will become one with the bearings.

i have magnets on the bottom of mine, i got them at the hardware store, they are about as big as those pink erasers.

i used a punch on my pan, then a tab with grease all over it. and then i got a mag drain plug and some magnets for peice of mind.... plus the jbweld

You could try that man, but I would just take the oil pan off and make sure that it's all clean. it's not worth risking your bottom end. Just loosen the bolts on the bottom mounts (the ones that attach to the sub frame), get an engine hoist, and lift it up just a few inches, so you can get the oil pan off. Don't risk it.

A lot less work than replacing your rod bearings.

Please tell me that you don't expect plastic plumbing fittings to last?
