92 lude H22 Turbo. help.
Alright i got a 92 prelude and put a 95 h22a1 in there. couple of questions.
I already bought some turbo parts cause i planned on turboing it. as of now it runs 14.3 in quarter from bolt ons and tune.
(AEM CAI, AEM Alt,PowerSteering Pullies,Mugen Headers, Mugen Cat Back ehaust, Removed secondary throttleplate and porting intake mani, innovate wideband,Uberdata,Bridgestone Potenzas, stripped)
I only planned on running 6psi on it cause i wanted a little bit more power. Car seems strong as hell but seems to smoke a little when i get up around 6500-8kRPM. Did a compression test and im getting 190-195 all the way accross. So im guessing it might be leaky valve from running car up to 8k.
I was htinking about putting a new head gasket on to make sure it wasnt that. Since compression is a little high in the h22 around 10:1. i was htinking a thicker one. Any suggestions on thickness to lower compression for the h22?
Heres what i was thinking. Turn rev limit down to say 6800k. Put 6psi on it. Put new head gasket on. Get into the 13's.
Also do you think the ringlands on the h22 would be able to handle 6psi daily. Any people with boosted h22 motors comments would be appriciated. Thanks
EDIT**
Also.. do you think the dsm 450's would be enough to supply for 6psi.. since i already got 320's(or close cant remember) stock.

Re: 92 lude H22 Turbo. help.
6psi daily driven prelude hmm.... u can boost it around 5/6 max on same stock internals. u dont need to change ur headgaskit to lower the compression.
im running a F22a/H22a boosted at 10psi with a peak of 15psi runs fine.
some pics of the setup

Re: 92 lude H22 Turbo. help.
what size injectors are you running and whats the max dutycyle your running them at.
well i was gonna change the headgasket jsut to make sure i dont have a leak in it... cause compresion shows up fine so im guessing when i get up into high rpms the higher pressure might open up a pinhole and leak a little. Either that or 1 of my valve seals are going bad..
oh yeah it looks like your coolant line isnt hooked up going to the head.. :P hope you werent running 10psi on that setup with no coolant lol
Also what do you rev your engine to .
thanks brian

---- man I would get rid of that fmu seriously...unless you could care less about the engine you built. Was it hard doing the H22 head on the F22a block...I was thinking about doing that or the H23 head...lemme know...just all new gaskets and belts about it?

no im talking about the coolant passage near the intake of the turbo.. thats supposed to run to the top of the radiator . Whats your a/f ratio like.. and what did you do about timing.. i Got uberdata.. how retarded are you also(not mentally either )

Smoke in high rpms is usaully normal, what are your a/f ratios in vtec, stock it is kinda rich.
But 6 psi will be ok but it is all about the tune, I mean you can blow a perfectly fine engine up on 3 psi with a shitty tune, and 440's should be ok as long as it is under the 300hp mark I would upgrade past that if you ever plan on reving it out.
