Re: 89 Prelude turbo B20A (HOLSET BALLAH)
any reason the radiator is like that? Do they not make half size raditors that fit your car?
|
Re: 89 Prelude turbo B20A (HOLSET BALLAH)
Get rid of that fmu

Re: 89 Prelude turbo B20A (HOLSET BALLAH)
Mods:
Engine Setup: Cylinder head: -ported and polished intake and exhaust -swirl polished valves -valve throats cut to max amount -reground cams -adjustable cam gears Intake Manifold: -ported and polished -butterfly assembly removed -upper plenum lower mating surface cut out -lower plenum recontoured plenum -gasket matched to cylinder head -integra 60mm throttle body Short block: -rebuilt B20A -.5 over pistons -5 coats of copper spray on factory gasket Turbo setup: -Holset H1C @ 6lbs -2" hot side piping -2.5" cold side piping -dsm blow off valve -tial 38mm wastegate -2.5 exhuast Trans: -integra flywheel -stage 3 clutch and pressure plate (sprung hub) -phantom grip shimmed to the max (2+ years) Engine management: -fmu -(soon to be swapped back to chipped P06 w/ostrich) -stock injectors -(soon to be 450cc) -walbro 255lph -B&M adjustable FPR @ 42lbs -MSD coil -water/alky injection Cooling: -1/2 size civic radiator -160 degree thermostat -160 degree fan switch and relay assembly -slim line fan Engine monitering: -EGT (damn this sensor is expensive) -boost/vacuum -oil pressure -water temp -plx wideband As of tonight this is all to the best of my knowledge it does suck becuase there's always something I am forgetting. Sorry long mod list yeah thus far I am running off the 4 lb spring in my wastegate but it still pushes to 6 lbs the only problem I am running into is the clutch is slipping its ass off after I hit second and get into boost so thus far I am not one hundred percent sure on just how bad my boost creep is going to be. AND YES YES I WILL GET RID OF THE ------- FMU I HAD TO TRACK DOWN AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND USED THAT TO RULE OUT THE ECU AS MY PROBLEM but all in all I love |
Re: 89 Prelude turbo B20A (HOLSET BALLAH)

Re: 89 Prelude turbo B20A (HOLSET BALLAH)
Mmmm hot radiator suckage.
|
Re: 89 Prelude turbo B20A (HOLSET BALLAH)
I would find, or have a radiator made that will fit better than that, and allow you to put a filter on your turbo. Your setup is gangster pimp and true HMT, but IMO could use a little refinement. Are you still running the FMU?
|
Re: 89 Prelude turbo B20A (HOLSET BALLAH)
yeah right now I am in the process of saving up for a traction bar, for either an 88-91 civic or better yet a nice bolt-in 90-93 integra I sat down at the junkyard when I had a spare afternoon and pulled one from a prelude and another from an integra and they are identical, bolt holes, dimensions, I just need a place where they sell it cheap enough for my ultra cheapo romanian ass budget
and soon the fmu will be gone, stop peeing on me about it :4 |
Re: 89 Prelude turbo B20A (HOLSET BALLAH)
the car doesnt over heat with that half rad, i know other 3rd genners tried them before and had issues. what manifold is that. setup looks fun though. I was gonna turbo my 3rd gen, but said ---- it and kept it as my daily
|
Re: 89 Prelude turbo B20A (HOLSET BALLAH)
That's certainly a BFT, having trouble closing the hood? j/k
Your rad position is unique but it looks WAY too close to the comp inlet volute... ??? ??? ??? Angular side pics please. :) |
