89 hatch boost project.
Hi all, well this is my second boost project, first involved a civic wagon, and a tiny ihi turbo, and a whole lot of home made ghetto fab. This one is going to be a little nicer and cleaner. Finishing collecting parts, all i need is injectors and a boost gauge. Picked up a T3 turbo, ext wastegate, hks bov, stainless charge pipes, spearco intercooler, misc gauges. Will start posting pics once i start assembling. I have a D16A6 with low comp pistons, at about 8.5:1 compressionshould be good for 12-14 PSI.

Re: 89 hatch boost project.
Got intercooler mounted today and main charge pipe with bov. Just a question regarding oil lines. Its not a junkyard turbo, its off a turbo kit. Now I know people talk about restricting oil flow to turbos etc. Do i need to do this with this turbo setup, i have an oil cooler as well im not sure if that will slow down the oil or not since ive never used one. If i do need to slow down the oil, what psi should i slow it to. I have an oil pressure gauge so i can put it after my restrictor to get it to the right amount of oil flow. Currenty using -4an stainless lines.

Re: 89 hatch boost project.
Mounted up the turbo, but will have to cut the cross member a bit as the downpipe sits snug on it, so i dont want issues. Relocated my battery to the trunk, using 2awg wire into a battery box, Redid the engine grounds. Today i will be adding a kill switch that kills the entire thing as per nhra regulations... stupid rules...

Re: 89 hatch boost project.
Since there is so much demand for pictures here u go! most of it is just mock up trials stuff.
89 cx hatch, gutted.
Front mount mocked up
Engine bay with turbo mocked up and charge pipe fitting before battery relocation.
Fuzzy pic, stupid camera... battery box in trunk.
